Sunday, January 18: “Loosing the Bonds: The United States and South Africa in the Apartheid Years,” a Kennedy Library Public Forum with author Robert Massie, examines American policy concerning the white government of South Africa’s brutal system of segregation of races. Films Celebrating the Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Monday, January 19: “I Have a Dream” (20 mins.) Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s eloquent speech delivered on August 28, 1963, during the March on Washington; and “Legacy of a Dream: Martin Luther King” (30 mins.) A film narrated by James Earl Jones, chronicling the events that secured the vote for African Americans and led to the death of the great civil rights leader. Screenings are free and open to the public. Films will be shown in the Dave Powers’ Room at the Kennedy Library on Columbia Point, Boston. They will run continuously throughout the day from 11:30 am through 5:00 pm.
