An evening dress made of ivory duchesse silk satin with a ruby-beaded silk organdy bodice. (Model number 124). The dress's short sleeved bodice is beaded with rosettes.
This dress was worn by Jacqueline Kennedy to a dinner hosted by Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru at the Indian Embassy, in Washington, DC on November 9, 1961. The First Lady also worn this gown to a dinner hosted by American Ambassador John Kenneth Galbraith at the US Embassy in New Delhi, India on March 20, 1962 and again to a fund-raiser celebrating the second anniversary of the Kennedy inauguration at the National Guard Armory in Washington, DC on January 18, 1963.
