Folder Description
This folder contains memoranda concerning the issuance of United Nations (UN) bonds to finance peace-and-security operations, highlights of the 16th meeting of the UN General Assembly, weekly summaries of the UN General Assembly, background materials for a meeting between President John F. Kennedy and acting UN Secretary-General U Thant, and the reappointment of Robert S. Benjamin as the National Chairman of the United States Committee for the UN. Also included in this folder are copies of UN agenda items concerning Portugal and the self-determination of Angola, and a statement by U.S. Ambassador to the UN Adlai Stevenson on U.S. policy towards Angola and Portugal.
