The series "Correspondence, 1943‑1952: Personal" contains family and general correspondence, telegrams, greetings, congratulations and souvenirs. Included are two subject entries, "Outstanding Man of the Year Award", for which John F. Kennedy was selected in 1947, and "Robert Kennedy Wedding" in 1950. Of note are letters written in 1943 by Kennedy while he was in the Navy and a 1948 letter from Robert Kennedy to his parents regarding his trip to Palestine. Researchers should note souvenirs may also be found in Series 2. Early Years; Subseries 5.2. Souvenirs, 1940-1950; and Subseries 7.1. Boston Office, Personal File.

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction.
One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excesses of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. The copyright law extends its protection to unpublished works from the moment of creation in a tangible form.
