Two gold medals commemorating the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy. A profile of President Kennedy is in the center of the medal with "Prasident USA John F. Kennedy" engraved around outer rim on the obverse. The reverse depicts a bird of peace holding an olive branch and is inscribed around the edge "Sententia - Pax-Labor-Panis - Orbi Terrarum." These medals were distributed by the International Coin and Medal Corp. of New York.
These medals were presented by Konrad Adenauer, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany (1949-1963), to President John F. Kennedy during his state visit to Germany on June 23, 1963.
