Sound recording of President John F. Kennedy's remarks at a meeting of the Democratic National Committee held in the East Room of the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. In his speech the President discusses the importance of strong political parties as an organ of effective government and addresses the organization's change in leadership from retiring Chairman Senator Henry "Scoop" Jackson of Washington to John M. Bailey.
