A dress in pale yellow silk shantung. The dress has cap sleeves with a slit opening at the neckline and a 3 inch wide band around a fitted waist with a balloon skirt.
This dress was worn by Jacqueline Kennedy during an elephant ride in Jaipur, India, March 19, 1962. During a two-day holiday as the guests of the Maharaja and Maharani of Jaipur, Jacqueline Kennedy met with members of the Peace Corps and later was joined by her sister for an elephant ride on the grounds of the Amber Palace.
