Medal.  Adelaide Pin.  Copper, enamel, iron.  1 ½ in.  Round pin with two flags in center:  one American and one unidentified.  Center is enamel rimmed w/copper braid.

Medal.  Al Valore Militare Medal, 8 June 1918.  Silver, silk.  3 ½ in.  WWI Italian Military valore medal inscribed “Ernest Miller Hemingway” and “Al Valore Militare.”  Silver medal with blue silk ribbon.  In a red box, measured 4 X 2 in. “Obverse has the Arms of Savoy, surmounted by a crow in an oval. Below are a palm and laurel branch, tied at base with a ribbon; and around the whole, the words AL VALORE MILITARE. Teh reverse has the name and title of the recipient engraved at the centre, while around the outer edge of one are the words SPEDIZIONE D’ORIENTE 1855-1856, in relief.” [Information from Italian Orders and Medals of Honour- Numismatic Notes and Monographs]
MO 2002.24.1

Medal.  American Academy of Arts and Letters Award of Merit, 1954.  Gold plated.  3 in.  Gold plated medallion awarded to Ernest Hemingway for “distinction in the art of the novel.”  Recto has wreath in center and “American Academy of Arts and Letters Award of Merit” along the outer rim.  Verso has a naked male Greek figure carrying a lute w/sun setting in background.  “Opportunity Inspiration Achievement” written along outer rim. Has a grey case, measured 3 ¾ X 3 ¾ in.  There is a chicken bone under the felt swath.

Medal.  Bersagliere Medal.  Metal.  1 in.  Italian metal.  Recto shows a head of a man wearing a hat w/a feather.  Verso has a clenched fist with “Pro IVR.”  (Contained in change purse.)

Medal.  Club Nautico Internacional Medal, 1949.  Silver, fabric, enamel. 4 in.  Silver medal w/blue ribbon attached.  Silver medallion with white and blue enamel flag in center.  “Club Nautico Internacional de la Habana 1949” inscribed on outer rim.

Medal.  Flandre Medal.  Bronze.  2 in.  Bronze medal with ”Flandre” written around outer edge and woman sitting with windmill and coat of arms.  Ship with ”French Line Compagnie/Gernerale Transatlantique) written MO 2002.37

Medal. "Pedro Romero" Medal.  Gold plated, purple fabric w/clasp  On verso: "Il Centenario Ronda: 1754 - 1954."  

Medal.  San Cristobal Medal, 1952-1955.  Gold plate.  2 ½ in.  Gold plated metal with pin backing.  “San Cristobal” inscribed across the top.  In center there is an image of a bee with a key.

Medal.  Token.  Metal.  ¾ in.  Token w/a “30” on recto and wheel on verso.  (Contained in change purse.)

Medal.  WWI Al Merito Di Guerra Medal.  Bronze, fabric.  WWI Merit of War medal for Ernest Hemingway.  Bronze cross with ”Merito Di Guerra” written on recto and star in the center of verso.  Blue and white striped silk ribbon.  (Medal has been separated from ribbon.)

Medal.  WWI Medal.  Metal, fabric.  Round metal w/head of a man on recto and wreath with ”Fortitudini” on verso.  Red and white striped ribbon attached.  “CARLVS D.G. IMP. AVST. REX BOH. ETC.ETREXAPOST.HVNG” inscribed around rim.
