A Moveable Feast
Item numbers 121-185 are the drafts of A Moveable Feast arranged by chapter. Originally all the chapter drafts were found in four groups, more or less reflecting an order of progressive development, but not always. Not all chapters were found in all of the four groups and their arrangement within the group was random. The groups have been broken up, but the individual drafts have been numbered One to Four so that the original organization of the manuscripts will not be lost. Dates are given wherever possible. The introduction and Chapter 20 and Endings are grouped together at the beginning of the book's chapter drafts because of the difficulty of separating and identifying the drafts. Some unpublished chapters are also included at the end. These are here identified as ''On writing in the first person,'' ''Ford,'' ''Fitzgerald/Football Game,'' and ''Larry Gains.'' The other chapters are identified as follows:

A Good Cafe on the Place St. Michel 1. Good Cafe

Miss Stein instructs 2. Stein Instructs

Une Generation Perdue 3. Lost Generation

Shakespeare and Company 4. Shakespeare

People of the Seine 5. Seine

A False Spring 6. Spring

The End of an Avocation 7. Racing

Hunger was Good Discipline 8. Hunger

Ford and the Devil's Disciple 9. Ford

Birth of a New School 10. New School
