I. Name File

The Outgoing Correspondence Name File is an alphabetical index to addressees, listing the dates of letters written by Hemingway to each person. All items within a correspondent's file are arranged chronologically. Unidentified letters are filed at the end of the alphabetical series under "Fragments".  File entries include names of organizations, such as publishing companies, literary agencies, or fundraising groups, especially when the individual recipient did not figure prominently in Hemingway's life.
