Series 4. 1952 Campaign.
Boxes 98-121, 15 boxes.

The material in this series was formerly in three locations: the Washington office, the Boston office, and the President's Office Files. Because there was not an obvious overall arrangement to the materials in any of these three files and because there was no apparent difference among them, the files were interfiled and arranged in five loose subject groupings. There is still much duplication of folder titles within series.

Series 4.1. Issues and Speeches.
Boxes 98-102, 5 boxes.
Arrangement: alphabetical.

This series contains campaign issues subject files and speeches. The first alphabetical sequence comes almost intact and without any additions from the papers of the Senator's Washington office. Other materials dealing with issues follow in another alphabetical sequence. This accounts for double listings of several folder titles. Following these subject files are reports prepared by the Research Division of the Democratic National Committee and others about Kennedy's voting record, briefing papers for the Kennedy-Lodge debate in Waltham, 9/16/52, and a small speech file.

Arrangement: alphabetical.

The large alphabetical sequence of this subseries covers the details of the campaign: publicity, endorsements, literature, and campaign workers' materials. Following is an alphabetical file from the President's Office Files, and lists of campaign workers. Included are the papers of the ethnic group effort: an extended folder title entry "Nationality Group Files" contains material which was kept as a whole in the Senator's Washington office. There is much duplication of folder titles. This series ends with voter and organization lists.
