World War I Overseas Fliers Appeal

June 20, 1961

World War I Overseas Fliers
c/o Director, Air Force Museum
Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio

Congratulations and best wishes on this, your grand reunion, commemorating your action in World War I.

The forty-three years since you flew and fought in the skies over Europe have brought many changes in aerial warfare. However, St. Mihiel and the Argonne are not forgotten. The courage and spirit of those who led the way established a proud tradition for the airmen who followed in World War II, Korea, and the Cold War of today.

Please accept my heartfelt appreciation for your outstanding service to the nation.

John F. Kennedy
President of the United States
