Seal of the National Archives and Records Administration

Businessman, New Hampshire political figure, government official. Mayor of Laconia, NH (1955-59); Kennedy campaign worker (1960); Deputy Administrator, Administrator, General Services Administration (1961-64); Deputy Director, Office of Economic Opportunity (1965-68).

Papers (1955-1966) consist of correspondence, memorandums, appointment books, schedules and speech files relating to New Hampshire politics, the 1960 Presidential campaign, the General Services Administration, and the Office of Economic Opportunity.

Records (1961-1963) of the General Services Administration consist of microfilm copies of records of Administrator Bernard L. Boutin, and the subdivisions of the Agency including the Defense Materials Service, Federal Supply Service, National Archives and Records Service, Transportation and Communications Service, Public Building Service, and files on the early development of the John F. Kennedy Library. Hard copy includes correspondence and a prospectus for alterations to the White House, and the Public Building Service's Planning Report on Civil Rights Demonstrations, August 28, 1963.  No electronic finding aid available.

Oral History Interviews (1964, 1974): Electronic version not available; portions closed.  Researchers are encouraged to visit the library to consult the interview recordings and transcripts.
