We are seeking a number of volunteers to assist Library staff with meeting, greeting and helping visitors and guests. Volunteers are essential and valued members of our staff and help the institution achieve its goals. There are two volunteer positions available:
Orientation Volunteer:
We are looking candidates who are willing to commit to one half day a week any day Sunday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Duties include interacting with visitors, orienting visitors to the special exhibit and introductory film, providing introductory film times and answering other general questions. Position requires effective communication skills and we are seeking candidates who enjoy working with the general public. Interest in John F. Kennedy and his presidency is desired. Evening Event Assistant:
The Special Events Department is seeking volunteers to assist the event services staff during private events. We are looking for candidates who are able to commit to one to four evenings per month from 5:00pm to 8:00/9:00pm. The schedule will vary from month to month dependant on the monthly evening event schedule. The duties include greeting event guests upon arrival to the Library, assisting with crowd control, orienting guests to the museum exhibits and answering general questions. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy interacting with the general public. This position requires walking and standing for long periods of time.
