The Profile in Courage Trust was established on the 50th Anniversary of the publication of Profiles in Courage, written by President John F. Kennedy. It is a dedicated fund to sustain the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for future generations.
The Profile in Courage Award has become the most prestigious symbol of courageous leadership in public service. Year after year, the outstanding winners remind our country that a democracy is strengthened by the willingness of public servants to give voice to their conscience even if it conflicts with their own political self-interest.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to the Profile in Courage Trust chair, Kenneth R. Feinberg, and to contributors at all levels whose support helps continue this inspiring recognition. The leading contributors are listed below (as of May 6, 2008).
