A Gift from the Greatest Generation: Creating a Legacy for the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation

“Our involvement in President Kennedy’s administration still remains one of the most important events of our lives and we are proud to further his legacy.” –Don and Susan Wilson

Don Wilson and his wife, Susan, have lived very active and useful lives.   After serving in the Air Force in World War II, Don became a foreign correspondent for LIFE magazine, covering several wars in the Far East and eventually running its Washington Bureau.  Don helped the Kennedy Administration explain its crucial policies worldwide during one of the most dangerous periods in American history—the Cuban Missile Crisis—when he served as deputy director of the United States Information Agency.  Susan is an educator and activist who, for over 30 years, has helped young people, first as an education policy maker and then as a tireless pioneer in efforts to promote sex education as Executive Coordinator of the Network for Family Life Education at Rutgers University.

They are the embodiment of the “Greatest Generation” and are excited about the work that is happening at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum to encourage current and future generations to embrace the values of freedom, democracy and service that President Kennedy championed.

Don and Susan Wilson have made a generous provision for the Kennedy Library Foundation in their estate plans.

“We are grateful for the leadership of Don and Susan Wilson and encouraged by their commitment to ensuring that the legacy of President Kennedy is preserved and perpetuated for generations to come,” said John Shattuck, CEO of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation.
