Paul G. Kirk, Jr., Chairman of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation's Board of Directors, paraphrasing President Kennedy's Inaugural Address upon the death of his sister, Eunice Shriver, said:
 
"The energy, the faith, the devotion that Eunice Shriver contributed tirelessly to life's endeavor will continue to bring light and hope, inspiration and individual dignity to millions throughout the world who might otherwise have been forgotten. Her life was a noble mission.

Our prayers are offered for Eunice's peace and for the strength of her loved one's at this time of loss."
