Overview

The core of the audiovisual holdings is comprised of photographic images, moving images, and sound recordings made by U.S. government personnel during the Kennedy Administration (1961-1963). Additional audiovisual materials document the lives and careers of Robert F. Kennedy, other members of the Kennedy family, and friends, associates, and notable contemporaries. In all, the Library holds approximately 515,000 still images (1863-present), 1,500,000 feet of motion picture film (1910-present), 5,000 video tapes (1958-present), and 12,000 sound recordings (1910-present).

Please note: Many of our audiovisual finding aids have yet to go online; until they do, we strongly encourage you to contact the Audiovisual Reference staff for more information about our holdings (see contact information below).
