Advanced search properties

Access Restriction Note
Significant information pertaining to the access restrictions on archival materials.

Access Restriction Status
The indication of whether or not there are access restrictions on the archival materials. The possible values for this property are Restricted - Fully, Restricted - Partly, Restricted - Possibly, Undetermined, and Unrestricted.

Accession Number
The unique local identifier assigned to an item. This property is not used for textual folders or collections.

Collection
The formal name given to the collection to which the archival materials belong.

Contributor
An individual or organization, other than the archival creator, responsible for significant contributions to the intellectual, technical, artistic or financial production of the archival materials. In photograph records, this property is called Photographer. The values for this property come from a controlled list of authority headings.

Copyright Status
The copyright status of the resource.

Description
Describes the breadth and depth of the archival materials.

Dimensions
An enumeration of the dimensions of an object. This property is used only for museum artifacts.

Folder Title
The title of the folder to which the archival item(s) belong. This property is used only for select photographs, sound recordings, moving images, and museum artifacts.

Gifter
The individual or organization who gave an object to President John F. Kennedy or his family, if known. This property is used only for museum artifacts.

Historical Note
An explanation of the historical context of an object. This property is used only for museum artifacts.

Item Name
The general name for a museum object, i.e. painting or sculpture. This property is used only for museum artifacts.

Language
The primary language(s) of the archival materials. Languages are recorded in the ISO 639-2 format (see the
Library of Congress website for more information)

Maker
The entity responsible for the creation of an object, if known. This property is used only for museum artifacts.

Media Type
The specific format of the archival materials. The values for this property come from a controlled list of authority headings.

Medium
Material(s) used to create an object or work of art. This property is used only for museum artifacts.

Museum Category
Topical browsing terms specific to museum artifacts.

Organization(s)
Organizations that are primary subjects of the archival materials. The values for this property come from a controlled list of authority headings.

Person(s)
Persons who are primary subjects of the archival materials. The values for this property come from a controlled list of authority headings.

Photographer
The photographer responsible for taking the photograph, if known. For object types other than photographs, this property is referred to as Contributor. The values for this property come from a controlled list of authority headings.

Physical Description
An enumeration of material type(s) or measurements of the resource, including the format, color, and dimensions of an item. For collections, oral histories, and textual folders, this property is referred to as Extent.

Place Made
The geographical place where an object was created, if known. This property is used only for museum artifacts.

Place(s)
Geographic locations represented in the archival materials. The values for this property come from a controlled list of authority headings.

Series Description
Description of the series to which the archival materials belong.

Series Name
The formal name given to the series to which the archival materials belong.

Status
Whether the collection is open to the public for research use. This property is only used for collection records.

Subject(s)
Topics represented in the archival materials. A list of subject browing terms
 is available, along with usage notes and links to related digital content.

Title
The formal name given to a resource.
