1. Is the Library accessible by public transportation?

Yes. By Public Transportation, take the MBTA Red Line to the JFK/UMASS station. A free shuttle bus is available. Take the bus marked ‘Bus #2’, which runs every 20 minutes starting at 10 minutes past the hour during Museum hours.

2. Is there parking available at the Museum and how much does it cost?

There is a large parking lot right outside the museum doors. It is free to all visitors.

3. Do you accept credit cards for admission?

We accept Visa, American Express, Master Card and Discover.

4. Can I purchase tickets in advance?

No, advanced ticket sales are not available. Tickets are for general admission, may be purchased on arrival and valid on the day of your visit only.

5. Are there discounts available for admission?

Yes. Seniors (age 62 & over), College Students (with valid ID), Youth (age 13 – 17), Children 12 & under and members are all eligible for discounted tickets.

6. Does the Museum offer coat check service?

There is no coat check service. A public coat rack can be used for coats and jackets.

7. Can I check luggage at the Museum?

No. There is no place for bags or luggage. Bags must be carried at all times.

8. Are strollers permitted?

Yes.

9. What are the dining options available at the Museum?

There is a Café with daily specials open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Seating is available in the Café or outside at picnic tables on a first come first serve basis.

10. May I arrange for a guided tour of the Museum?

Guided tours are available on a limited basis for school groups and can be scheduled from September to June. The Group Visits department can arrange a tour.

11. Is there information available for international visitors about the Museum?

The museum has informational brochures printed in ten different languages. They are: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Korean.

12. Is the Museum wheelchair accessible?

The museum is wheelchair accessible and guests may request a wheelchair at the front desk (a photo ID must be left). Wheelchairs are available on a first come first serve basis.

13. Does the Museum offer anything for hearing-impaired visitors?

All videos throughout the Museum are closed captioned and closed captioning may be requested for the Introductory Film in Theater 2.
