Dinner honoring Nobel Prize winners of the Western Hemisphere

President Kennedy and British Prime Minister Harold Macmillan issue a joint statement following their three days of discussions at the White House. They pledge to continue to pursue negotiations with the Soviet Union on Berlin, nuclear testing, and disarmament.

President Kennedy hosts a dinner honoring Nobel Prize winners of the Western Hemisphere in the State Dining Room and the Blue Room of the White House. The President says "I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered together at the White House, with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
