Papers (1947-1980) consist of general files, letters, memoranda, press releases, news clippings, notes, and political ephemera, focusing primarily upon the Department of the Interior's role in the Kennedy and Johnson administrations.

Oral History Interviews (1969-1970): Beaty completed fourteen interviews for the John F. Kennedy Library; JFK#1 interview: 10/10/1969; JFK#2 interview: 10/24/1969; JFK#3 interview: 10/31/1969; JFK#4 interview: 11/7/1969; JFK#5 interview: 11/14/1969; JFK#6 interview: 11/21/1969; JFK#7 interview: 12/5/1969; JFK#8 interview: 12/12/1969; JFK#9 interview: 12/19/1969; JFK#10 interview: 1/9/1970; JFK#11 interview: 1/16/1970; JFK#12 interview: 2/13/1970; JFK#13 interview: 2/20/1970; JFK#14 interview: 2/27/1970. Interviews one and two comment upon Stewart L. Udall's time as a U.S. Congressman and upon Arizona politics. Interviews three through fourteen comment upon Udall's tenure as Secretary of the Interior, the staff of the Interior Department under Udall, and issues that arose in the Interior Department during the Kennedy administration, among other issues.
