This year the Kennedy Library recognized more than sixty middle school students from across Massachusetts for the difference they have made in their communities through service projects.
Some of the student projects included helping fellow students with disabilities, working at local food pantries and senior centers, organizing recycling projects, raising funds for autism and childhood cancer research, and fundraising for children in Uganda and Haiti.
The award was given to students who were nominated by a teacher or principal for an outstanding contribution they have made to their neighborhood, town or community. The students each received a personalized certificate recognizing their work on the project for which they were nominated.
