Sound recording of a radio program about the late President John F. Kennedy broadcast over Radio DZMT, Manila, Philippines, on November 26, 1963 (days after President Kennedy's death). A presenter speaks about the assassination of President Kennedy, the response of people and leaders around the world, President Kennedy's funeral, and his legacy. The program includes excerpts of Senator Mike Mansfield of Montana (Senate Majority Leader) eulogizing President Kennedy (including the refrain “and so she took a ring from her finger and placed it in his hands”), and remarks from former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, President of the United Nations General Assembly Carlos Sosa Rodriguez, and Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) U Thant. Also included are excerpts from news coverage of the funeral, a eulogy from Auxiliary Bishop of the Washington Archdiocese Philip M. Hannan, and excerpts from President Kennedy's speeches. The program contains statements from Austrian Foreign Minister Dr. Bruno Kreisky, Austrian Minister for Trade and Reconstruction Dr. Fritz Bock, Mayor of West Berlin Willy Brandt, former U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, President of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly Carlos Sosa Rodriguez, UN Secretary General U Thant, and U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson.
