In his speech President Kennedy discusses the necessity for a greater Atlantic partnership between the United States and European nations, and identifies five major benefits of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962: increasing economic growth, avoiding inflation, improving balance of payments, increasing investments at home, and increasing the American standard of living.
