Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson; and “Johnson people” versus “Kennedy people,” among other issues.

Kennedy Library fundraising drive; the acquisition and transfer of Kennedy administration archival materials to the National Archives and Records Service, a division of the GSA; Boutin's oral history interviews; and plans for the design and construction of the building, with research on the other existing presidential libraries (Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower). Items include correspondence with Robert F. Kennedy, Edward M. This folder contains a copy of A Report to the President Containing a Proposal by the National Historical Publications Commission (NHPC), which details a ten-year plan for documenting American history. The introduction to the report was written by Boutin as head of the General Services Administration, the parent agency of the NHPC.

Boutin, and the subdivisions of the agency including the Defense Materials Service, Federal Supply Service, National Archives and Records Service, Public Building Service, Transportation and Communications Service, and Utilization and Disposal Service. Hard copy includes correspondence, a prospectus for alterations to the White House, and the Public Building Service's report on the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
