Kennedy and Major Wingate Gray, leader of the Black Watch, make remarks. A number of area school children were invited to the South Lawn of the White House, Washington, D.C., to witness the performance. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy, John F. "Red" Fay, Jr., Anita Fay, Lem (Kirk LeMoyne) Billings, Patricia "Pat" Kennedy Lawford, and others who are unidentified.
