Tahchevah Wash in Palm Springs, California. John W. Bryant, Chief Engineer of the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, sent this photograph and two others to Phil Reagan [Regan] with a letter dated February 19, 1963. The photographs show the rapid development in the area protected by the Tachevah Creek Flood Control Project between 1957 and 1962. It is presumed that Regan, a "human relations representative," forwarded the letter and photographs to President John F. Kennedy at the request of Mr. Bryant. [Notes: Stamp on recto of photographic print reads, "Tahchevah Wash, May 1961."]
