The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation today announced that it is undertaking an extensive national search to find a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization. The search, in its very early stages, will focus on locating the right person to help the Foundation prepare for the 2017 Centennial of President Kennedy’s birth.

“We seek an individual who not only has the requisite skills to administer the Foundation, but who also understands and values the legacy of President Kennedy,” said Kenneth R. Feinberg, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation. “As we approach the Centennial of his birth, his legacy and impact on our nation and the world are more important than ever,” Feinberg added.

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), which oversees the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, is currently conducting a search for a new director of the Library. The Foundation Board of Directors will be working closely with NARA to ensure that both of the institutions’ new leaders are prepared to work together to achieve the goals of the Library.

"We look forward to working closely with the Foundation Board as we both recruit new leadership,” said Archivist of the United States David S. Ferriero. “The ongoing valuable and successful public/private partnership between the Archives and the Foundation makes a critical difference in our ability to fulfill our mission of making accessible the records of President Kennedy and his Administration.”

The search will be conducted over a period of several months. Interested parties may send inquiries and applications to CEOSearch@jfklfoundation.org.
