Kennedy, various members of the White House staff, and civil rights advocates concerning the commemorative events for the 100th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, non-discrimination clauses in government leases, the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, and desegregation in hospitals, educational institutions, and The United Service Organizations (USO). Of note is correspondence between the White House and civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
