Materials in this folder include telegrams, memoranda, newspaper articles, and correspondence between President John F. Kennedy, various White House staff members, and individual citizens concerning racial relations in various cities, the activities of the United States Justice Department in the field of civil rights, discriminatory practices concerning public facilities, and incidents of discrimination of Americans of Mexican descent. Of note is a telegram to President Kennedy from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
