The Library's audiovisual holdings are comprised of photographic images, moving images, and sound recordings made primarily by U.S. government personnel during the Kennedy Administration (1961-1963).

Additional audiovisual materials document the lives and careers of Robert F. Kennedy; other members of the Kennedy family; and friends, associates, and notable contemporaries. In all, the Library holds approximately 515,000 still images (1863-present), 4,600 motion picture reels (1910-present), 6,300 video tapes (1958-present), and 14,000 sound recordings (1910-present).

Please note: Many audiovisual finding aids (collection guides) have yet to go online; until they do, we strongly encourage you to contact the Audiovisual Reference staff for more information about the audiovisual holdings (see contact information below).
