Folder Description
This folder contains copies of outgoing memoranda from Robert W. Komer of the National Security Council (NSC), to McGeorge Bundy, Special Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, and President John F. Kennedy. Topics include a Kashmir settlement and negotiations between India and Pakistan, United States Ambassador to India John Kenneth Galbraith’s role in the negotiations, and U.S. military aid to India. Of note are draft letters from President Kennedy to Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru and President of Pakistan Ayub Khan.
