Kennedy's secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, and Harris Wofford, Special Assistant to the President for Civil Rights, and primarily concern the Peace Corps and civil rights issues. Of note is Wofford's resignation as Special Assistant for Civil Rights in order to accept a Peace Corps position as Special Representative in Africa at large and director of the program in Ethiopia.
