Physical DescriptionOil painting (a) of a seascape with a shore lined with boats. Houses are seen on the hillside in the background and along the road in the foreground. The scene is rendered in pastel shades of green, purple, and blue. In a narrow gilt wood frame with wide fabric covered liner (b).
Historical NoteThis painting was presented to President Kennedy by Prime Minister Giovanni Leone of Italy (1963, 1968) during the President's state visit to that country in July 1963.

Custodial History NoteItem was a gift from a foreign official to the President and First Lady received through the Executive office during the Kennedy Administration and transferred to the General Service Administration where it was held until donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
