Photographs capture Rose and her family at their residences in Hyannis Port in Massachusetts, Bronxville in New York, and Palm Beach in Florida; at the beach at The Breakers Hotel and at the Sea Spray Club in Palm Beach; at the Ostrich-Alligator Farm & Zoo in Lantana, Palm Beach County; and at the West Beach Club on Cape Cod. Also of note are photographs of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter celebrations; birthday parties for Eunice Kennedy and Jean Kennedy; a Native American sun dance ceremony in Palm Beach; gymnastics exercises and boxing matches at the Sea Spray Club, in which Robert F. “Bobby/Bob” Kennedy and Edward M. “Ted” Kennedy participated; Jean dressed for her First Communion and Confirmation in Bronxville; Ted’s picnic on the lawn of the family’s home in Bronxville with a friend identified as “Rita”; a visit to a warship in Provincetown, Massachusetts; Jean dressed in a Scottish tartan and kilt; and other activities including swimming, sailing, sledding, horseback riding, football, and other sports. Other Kennedy family members and friends pictured in photographs include Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.; Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr.; John F. “Jack” Kennedy; Rosemary Kennedy (referred to as “Rose” in original captions); Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy; Patricia “Pat” Kennedy; Rose’s parents, John F. “Honey Fitz” Fitzgerald and Mary Josephine Hannon Fitzgerald; Rose’s sister, Agnes Fitzgerald Gargan, and brother-in-law, Joseph F. Of note are photographs of an unidentified nurse holding Ted at Saint Margaret's Hospital in Dorchester, Massachusetts, five days after his birth; a visit to the Ostrich-Alligator Farm & Zoo in Lantana, Palm Beach County, Florida; views of the Kennedy family home in Palm Beach; boxing matches at the Sea Spray Club in Palm Beach, in which Bob and Ted participated; Eunice and Eddie Moore fishing in Palm Beach; Joe, Jr., dressed in drag with classmates at Harvard University; and family members and friends participating in both warm-weather and cold-weather outdoor activities. Many leaves contain original handwritten captions in white ink, in two different hands, although the handwriting does not belong to Rose or Kathleen, and the writers have not been determined. This photograph album contains 93 photographic prints and two photograph fragments.

This photograph album was first compiled by Rosemary Kennedy as a birthday gift for her sister, Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, in 1929, with later photographs added by Kathleen. The gold stamped title on the cover reads, “Photographs.” An original handwritten inscription on the inside front cover reads, "Kathleen, From Rose happy birthday Feb. 1929," in white ink. Original captions are written in white ink and pencil in both Rosemary’s and Kathleen’s hand. Photographs document the family life, travels, and social activities of the Kennedy family from 1927 to 1936. In addition to Rosemary (referred to as “Rose” in original captions) and Kathleen, those pictured include their parents, Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr., and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy; their siblings, Joseph P. “Joe” Kennedy, Jr., John F. "Jack" Kennedy, Eunice Kennedy, Patricia "Pat" Kennedy, Jean Kennedy, and Edward M. Other locations and historic sites featured in photographs include the White House and United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C.; the National Monument to the Forefathers and Plymouth Rock in Plymouth, Massachusetts; the Potomac River; and George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate in Virginia. Original handwritten inscriptions are written in blue ink and pencil on the versos of many photographs. This photograph album contains 154 photographic prints, two photographic postcards, and one contact print of a strip of four 35mm black and white negatives.
