This folder contains letters sent to Senator John F. Kennedy and members of his staff from various individuals of Maryland, Massachusetts and Michigan concerning the role of religion in the 1960 campaign, the prospect of a Catholic president, the distribution of anti-Catholic materials, and support and opposition for the Senator’s campaign. Also of note is a memorandum from James Wine to Robert F. Kennedy discussing strategies for addressing the religious issue during the campaign.
