This file contains a copy of Senator John F. Kennedy’s speech given at a United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America convention in Chicago, Illinois during his 1960 presidential campaign. In his speech he appeals for Democratic leadership to strengthen the United States and protect against the growing threat of communism, and discusses political party divisions on economic issues, including those relating to labor and housing legislation.
