United States Ambassador to India John Kenneth Galbraith, his wife Kitty, and an unidentified man riding an elephant. The photograph was taken by the United States Information Service (USIS) and sent to President John F. Kennedy with a letter from Ambassador Galbraith dated May 5, 1962. In the letter, Ambassador Galbraith indicates this photograph was taken en route to "the special village in Bhutan" where a reception was held.
