Complex at Brooks Air Force Base (AFB), Texas, including the Headquarters of the United States Air Force (USAF) Aerospace Medical Division (AMD), Air Force Systems Command (AFSC). The photograph was released by the Office of Information at the Aerospace Medical Division. A caption on the back of the photo reads: "Office of Information. Aerospace Medical Division (AFSC). Brooks Air Force Base, Texas. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Co-located with the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine in this modern complex at Brooks AFB, Texas is Headquarters of the Aerospace Medical Division (AMD), Air Force Systems Command (AFSC). AMD directs all Aerospace Medical research for the United States Air Force. Other division units are located at nearby Lackland Air Force Base, and as far away as Fort Jonathan M. Wainwright, Alaska. Clockwise from the Hqs, AMD building* at center: Academic Building; Bioastronics-Biodynamics Building*; Vivarium Support Facility*; Bionucleonics Laboratory*; Altitude Laboratory; Heating and Cooling Plant Extension*; Research Institute; Instrument Shops Building; and Flight Medicine Building. Directly behind the Hqs, AMD Building is the Aeromedical Library*. The facility was formally dedicated by President John F. Kennedy on November 21, 1963. *-Denotes New Building."
