Celebrating Courage: The Profile in Courage Award and Profiles in COVID Courage Awards

May 26, 2021 6:00 PM - 6:45 PM

Location virtual

We invite you to join us on the evening of Wednesday, May 26th for the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation's virtual ceremony, Celebrating Courage: The Profile in Courage Award and Profiles in COVID Courage Awards.

The virtual ceremony will include the presentation of the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award to Senator Mitt Romney, for following his conscience and the Constitution in his vote to convict President Trump in the 2020 impeachment trial, and exemplifying the quality that President Kennedy most admired: political courage.

This year, Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and her son Jack Schlossberg will also present the special Profiles in COVID Courage Awards to seven individuals from across the nation who are helping to heal the sick, protect our most vulnerable, and provide critical support services to those in need. The COVID Courage honorees include Dr. Amy Acton, Burnell Cotlon, Fred Freeman, Antonio Greene, Lauren Leander, Darrell R. Marks, and Governor Gretchen Whitmer. In recognizing the commitment and sacrifice of these COVID Courage honorees, the JFK Library Foundation will pay tribute to all those on the frontlines of the pandemic.

Celebrating Courage is co-chaired by Paul and Sandy Edgerley and David H. Long, Chairman and CEO of Liberty Mutual Insurance.
