Celebrate Presidents’ Day Week at JFK Library with Family-Friendly Programs and Activities
Library’s Fifth Annual Family Festival to be held on Monday, February 15th

BOSTON – The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum will offer several family-oriented activities and programs throughout Presidents’ Day week, including its signature Presidents’ Day Family Festival featuring presidential storytelling, activities and performances. On Wednesday, February 17, the award-winning Crabgrass Puppet Theatre will bring folktales to life in honor of African American Heritage Month.

Tell our front desk the buzzword and receive $2 off admission prices. Family-friendly Highlights Tours will be offered throughout the week with paid museum admission.

Presidents’ Day Family Festival 
Monday, February 15, 2016
10:00 AM-4:00 PM

On Monday, February 15 from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, the Kennedy Library will host its fifth annual Family Festival. Presidential storytelling, creative activities, museum tours and demonstrations, and live musical performances will bring the Library to life in new ways for all ages.

Actors portraying Presidents Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams and First Lady Abigail Adams, will share stories and engage visitors in conversation. Festival goers may make a tricorner or stovepipe hat to wear to meet our guest presidents and try out other hands-on activities including NASA astronaut puppets, White House china or origami sailboats. The festival will close with a special free concert by the Harvard Din & Tonics, who will perform Kennedy campaign songs and popular music from yesterday and today.

Special festival activities are free with paid admission and visitors ages 17 and under are admitted free of charge on Festival day. Regular admission fees apply to all other visitors. The closing Harvard Din & Tonics concert is free for all. The Family Festival is especially appropriate for ages 5 and up.

Celebrate! with Crabgrass Puppet Theatre – African Adventure Tales

With stunning puppetry, spectacular scenery, and infectious music, the award-wining Crabgrass Puppet Theatre brings folktales to life in honor of African American Heritage Month. Come enjoy humorous tales and learn some lessons with animal friends.

The Celebrate! series is appropriate for  family audiences and children ages 5 and up. In order to optimize your comfort and enjoyment, reservations are required for all visitors to this free program. Make reservations by visiting jfklibrary.org/celebrate or calling 617-514-1644 and leaving a message. Children are seated on the floor with their caretakers. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
