This folder contains correspondence between various individuals and White House officials regarding the arrest and imprisonment in Albany, Georgia of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Reverend Ralph Abernathy; suggested appointments to the United States Supreme Court; and requests for appointments with President John F. Kennedy to discuss civil rights issues. Of note are telegrams to President Kennedy from Dr. King on civil rights issues including violence in Southern states, voter registration, and housing.
