Judy Garland (front left) and John A. Ryan (front right) disembarking an airplane in Germany. Garland and Ryan attended a rally in Wiesbaden, Germany, for Senator John F. Kennedy's 1960 presidential campaign. Ryan, who served as Chairman of Senator Kennedy's Overseas Committee for Contacting Absentee Voters during the campaign, sent this photograph and other materials pertaining to campaign rallies held in European cities to Personal Secretary Evelyn Lincoln with a letter dated May 29, 1963. An inch-wide strip of paper with two punched holes is taped to the left side of the photograph. A stamp on the verso of the photograph reads: "Copyright by Heinz Leitermann, Overseas Weekly. The International Media Company, 19-25 Schillerstrasse, Frankfurt am Main, Germany."
