President John F. Kennedy visits with sculptor, Korczak Ziolkowski (right), at the dedication of the Oahe Dam and Reservoir, on the banks of the Missouri River, near Pierre, South Dakota. Mr. Ziolkowski presented President Kennedy with a carved mahogany sculpture of Chief Henry Standing Bear (partially visible at far right edge of frame). Secretary of the Interior, Stewart L. Udall (partially hidden), stands in center; U.S. Senatorial candidate from South Dakota, George McGovern (in back, mostly hidden), stands at right.
