Kennedy Library Foundation have selected Endeca to provide the software and technical assistance that will provide website users with a robust search engine experience when accessing the nation’s first online digitized presidential archives.
JFK Presidential Library to Host 2006 Hemingway/PEN and L.L. Winship/PEN New England Literary Awards
BOSTON, MA – On Sunday, April 2, PEN/New England and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum will honor Yiyun Li as the 2006 recipient of the Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award for a distinguished first book of fiction for A Thousand Years of Good Prayers (Random House).
BOSTON - The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum will mark Presidents’ Day this year by offering several family-oriented activities and special promotions throughout the week-long celebration.

Boston - Employee’s Detective Work Leads to Missing Artifact. A piece of scrimshaw from President Kennedy’s collection, long thought missing by the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum, has been loaned by the family of Greta Garbo for display in the Library’s new exhibit "John F. Kennedy – Man of the Sea." The new exhibit opens June 3 and runs through November 1. The decorated whale’s tooth was given to the Swedish movie actress by President Kennedy following her private White House dinner with the President and Mrs. Kennedy on November 13, 1963.

Kennedy Library and Museum will honor Gabriel Brownstein as the 2003 recipient of the Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award for a distinguished first book of fiction for his collection, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Apt. 3W,published by W. W. Norton & Company. Patrick Hemingway, the son of Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Ernest Hemingway, will present the award at the April 13th ceremony at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum in Boston. Ernest Hemingway’s papers are archived at the Kennedy Library and Museum.

The John F. Kennedy Library and Museum in Boston invites the public to sign a condolence book to share their thoughts and honor the life and legacy of President Ronald W. Reagan. The condolence book will be sent to Mrs. Reagan and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. The condolence book will be available in the lobby at the Kennedy Library from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Sunday, June 13.
BOSTON: The John F. Kennedy Library and Museum will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis with a special exhibit, The World On the Brink: John F. Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis, which opens Wednesday, October 2, 2002, and runs through Friday, May 15, 2003. The exhibit will feature original artifacts and images associated with the 13 days of the 1962 crisis.

Fenn Jr., educator, government official and first Director of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. The papers, a collection of approximately thirty-five feet, primarily consist of material related to Fenn’s position as a Special Assistant to President John F. Kennedy, his appointment to the United States Tariff Commission, and his work as a consultant and a professor of business-government relations. The collection spans from 1952 to 1986.

Carver, Jr., lawyer and government official. The papers, a collection of approximately 37 cubic feet, consist of materials related to Carver’s work as Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Public Lands Management (1961-1964), Under Secretary of the Interior (1965-1966), and Commissioner on the Federal Power Commission (1966-1972). The collection spans from 1961 to 1972.

BOSTON, MA – In honor of Eroni Kumana, the recently deceased Solomon Island native who helped rescue John F. Kennedy and his PT-109 crew following the boat’s collision with a Japanese destroyer during World War II, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum has made a piece of “kustom money” that Kumana gave to the Kennedy family part of the museum’s permanent exhibits. Kumana passed away August 2, 2014 at age 93. August 8, 2014 marks the 71st anniversary of the PT-109 crew rescue.
