Kennedy’s [JFK] 1960 primary campaign in West Virginia, primarily in the eastern part of the state, and how he first joined the campaign; religious issues facing JFK in West Virginia in both the primary and general elections in 1960; and reactions in eastern West Virginia to JFK’s Administration and new domestic programs throughout his term as President, among other issues.

Senator Kennedy also addresses President Eisenhower’s speech on science and national security, and discusses a need for increased investment in scientific research and technological advancement to protect the United States from the growing threat from the Soviet Union .
