Dedication of a plaque and park to former United States Ambassador to Guatemala Lester D. Mallory in Guatemala City, Guatemala. An arrow pointing to Ambassador Mallory was drawn on the photograph. The following is stamped on the photograph: "Obsequio de dona, Mra. Teresa de Ydigoras, Garzaro [illegible]." The following is stamped on the verso of the photograph: "Secretaria de Informacion de la Presidencia de la Republica, Departmento Fotografico, Guatemala, C.A." Chief of Protocol Angier Biddle Duke forwarded an 8 1/2 x 12-inch photograph album containing this photograph with a memorandum dated May 2, 1961, to Personal Secretary Evelyn Lincoln. The Republic of Guatemala created the photograph album to show the "popular respect" paid to Ambassador Mallory.
