Kennedy's secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, concerning President Kennedy's remarks at the First International Awards Dinner of the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation held at the Statler-Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. In his speech the President explains that the recipients were chosen for their outstanding achievement in the scientific research, professional service, and lay leadership related to mental retardation. Materials in this folder include a memorandum from Myer Feldman, a draft by Special Counsel and speechwriter Theodore Sorensen, and a press copy of the speech.
