Kennedy's secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, concerning President Kennedy's remarks at a ceremony in honor of the Mona Lisa at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. In his speech the President thanks France for loaning the painting, discusses the historical bonds that link the two countries, and describes Andre Malraux, the French Minister of Culture, as an example of the interconnectedness of art and politics. Materials in this folder include a memorandum, press, and reading copy of the speech, in addition to French and English copies of an address delivered by Malraux. Of note are several items with handwritten notations by the President.
